Kevin Perry
Kevin Perry plays fiddle and sings harmony vocals.
Kevin began playing fiddle at age 14. He took lessons from George Custer, who played fiddle for Ray Price and many other great country artists. Mr. Custer was also one of fiddle super star Aubrey Haynie’s teachers. After a couple years of lessons, Kevin and Custer played twin fiddles at many different festivals. During those years Kevin also shared the stage with bluegrass greats such as Red and Murphy Henry, Big Timber Bluegrass, Mike Johnson, and The Sounds of Grass. He was fortunate to play twin fiddles on stage with the late, great Chubby Wise, who was one of Bill Monroe’s original Bluegrass Boys. Kevin owes much of his abilities to local fiddle great Frank Trivett, who Kevin says is an “encyclopedia of fiddle tunes”. Kevin is teaching his 13 year old son, Cason, who shares his love of bluegrass music, to play mandolin and guitar.
